Company founded by Erwin Bucherl with Lothar and Horst Burger and Erich Gruber. The expression “Bürgo” comes from the names of the founding fathers

1972

Commissioning of a 3-layer extruder with 11 kg/h in a barn in Gibitz

1980

The company moves to Siegenburg, the current headquarters

1981

The first 5-layer co-extruder in Germany is put into operation

1990

Change of name to “Buergo.fol GmbH”

1995

The first 7-layer extruder in Germany is put into operation, the first production of high-barrier films made of EVOH

1997

48 employees and around 2,500 tons per year capacity

April 1998

Company takeover from Dr. Franz Schleicher

1999 / 2000

Two more 5-layer and one 7-layer extruder go into operation

Juni 2000

Inauguration of a new production hall with 1,500 m²

2002

A distribution hall with a storage system covering 4,000 m² was built and the administration building was modernised

2005

Opening of the production plant for rigid films based on APET in Ingolstadt

Oktober 2005

Dipl.-Ing. Gregor Schleicher is appointed as managing director

2008 / 2010

Additional systems increased the capacity at the Ingolstadt plant to 22,000 tons per year and thermal lamination was introduced

2008

Third 7-layer extrusion line in Siegenburg, high-tech films over 13,000 tons per year

2008 / 2009

Construction of the third location in Neutraubling, with systems for printing, lamination and roll cutting

2011

Two extrusion lines for 7-layer shrink film are put into operation

2014

Another APET CAST system is put into operation

2015

Annual capacity of 45,000 tons per year and approx. 300 employees

2017

Commissioning of another APET Cast plant with a capacity of approx. 10,000 tonnes per year

2018

Commissioning of two further blown film extrusion lines.
